2010-09-21 to 2010-09-21 Developing Garden Photography Skills
Join nature photographer David M. Cobb for a workshop focused on helping you develop your garden photography skills. David will present a one-hour lecture and demonstration slide show on Monday, September 20th at 2pm at the Lan Su Chinese Garden open to the public followed the next morning with a private 4 hour outdoor shoot at Portland's Lan Su Chinese Garden, where he will offer one-on-one assistance and work with participants on improving their composition, lighting, metering, and exposure skills. Photographers of all abilities are welcome. Cost $100 (50% of proceeds donated to the Lan Su Chinese Garden).

2011-09-21 to 2011-09-28 Glacier National Park
Join David Cobb and Sean Bagshaw in Glacier National Park. During late September, the snow begins to dust the steep mountains, and most of the tourists have gone home. Deer and elk can still be spotted, and bear, moose, bighorn, and mountain goat, still roam the park in full view. This will be a photo-intensive workshop concentrating on fieldwork. Beginning on the western side of the park we’ll photograph some of the spectacular scenery along the Continental Divide. Moving to the eastern half we’ll concentrate on the landscape filled with colorful aspen, hike to spectacular waterfalls, and lands dotted with beautiful lakes. Although we will be concentrating on landscape images, there will always be wildlife nearby to photograph. The price of $2,195 includes lodging (rates based on double occupancy), transportation within the park, and two meals per day. This is an area made up of incredible waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and a couple of dominant mountains. Throw in fall color and you have a photographer’s paradise. We’ll be based in the quaint town of Hood River, Oregon, we’ll photograph Columbia River Gorge waterfalls, sunrise at Mount Adams, sunset at Mount Hood, and a few of the abandoned homesteads and schoolhouses in the eastern gorge wheatfields.
